About the role

ELSS is seeking Disability Support Workers to provide afternoon and overnight support to participants living at The Sanctuary. You will help participants follow their chosen routines, maintain their home, and feel secure and supported overnight. This role suits someone who is calm, dependable and confident using their judgement. Consistency matters: participants need workers who turn up, get to know them and follow through.

Key responsibilities

- Support participants with afternoon, evening and morning routines in line with their individual support plans.

- Assist with personal care, including showering, dressing and toileting where required.

- Prepare meals and support participants with eating and drinking as needed.

- Support household duties, including dishes, laundry, rubbish and cleaning the areas participants use.

- Encourage participants to make choices and do the tasks they can manage independently.

- Support planned activities and community access during the afternoon shift.





- Assist with medication.

- Respond to participants who need assistance during the sleepover and follow escalation procedures when required.

- Complete accurate shift notes, report incidents or changes in wellbeing, and provide a clear morning handover.

About you

- Experience supporting people with disability, ideally in a SIL setting.

- Communicate respectfully and follow support plans.

- Availability for afternoon shifts followed by a sleepover and morning handover.

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.

- Ability to travel reliably to Tingira Heights.

- A current driver’s licence and, if transporting participants in your own vehicle, proof of comprehensive car insurance.
