Jema Support Services is seeking caring, reliable and motivated Disability Support Workers to join our casual staffing pool across Maryborough, Hervey Bay and surrounding areas.

Our support services are personalised, respectful and focused on helping participants build confidence, maintain independence and achieve their individual goals.

Casual pool employees may be offered shifts based on participant needs, worker suitability and availability. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary from week to week.

About the role

Depending on participant needs, your duties may include:

- Domestic assistance and household cleaning
- Community access and social participation
- Supporting participants with shopping and appointments
- Helping participants develop everyday living skills
- Providing personal care within your training and competency
- Supporting participant choice, dignity and independence
- Following individual support plans, risk assessments and service instructions
- Completing accurate shift notes, travel records and incident documentation
- Communicating concerns or changes promptly to the Jema Support Services team

Some roles may require additional participant-specific training, buddy shifts or demonstrated competency before independent shifts can be offered.

Previous disability-support experience is valued; however, applicants with the right attitude, transferable skills and willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply. Some entry-level opportunities may initially focus on domestic assistance.

Essential requirements

Successful applicants must have or be willing to obtain:
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Working with Children Check or Blue Card, where required
- National Police Check
- Current First Aid certificate
- Current CPR certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You
- NDIS New Worker Induction Module
- Infection Prevention and Control training, where required
- Current Australian driver licence
- Reliable, registered vehicle
- Comprehensive motor-vehicle insurance
- Working smartphone capable of accessing Basecamp and Deputy
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or a related qualification, or willingness to obtain an appropriate qualification
