Summary
As a Disability Support Worker in Manly, New South Wales, you will play a vital role in supporting a client to live independently and participate actively within the community. This casual position is suited to a compassionate, reliable, and person-centred support worker who enjoys building meaningful connections and assisting clients with their daily living needs.
Your support will help the client maintain their independence, attend appointments, participate in community activities, and enhance their overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with daily living activities in accordance with the client’s care plan.
- Support with Personal Care (PC) as required.
- Assist with meal preparation and other household tasks that promote the client’s wellbeing and independence.
- Provide Community Participation (CP) support, including transporting the client to: Medical appointmentsShopping centresCommunity activitiesOther social engagements
- Encourage and support community involvement and social participation.
- Maintain accurate client records and report any changes in wellbeing, behaviour, or support needs.
- Work collaboratively with family members and the wider support team to ensure quality care is delivered.
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting people living with a disability.
- Experience with:
Personal CareMeal PreparationCommunity ParticipationTransporting clients to appointments and community activities
- Current Australian Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate, reliable, and client-focused approach.
Desirable Qualifications
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Ageing, or equivalent)
- Certificate III in Disability
- Diploma in Community Services or a related field
- Previous experience in Supported Independent Living (SIL) or In-Home Care (IHC)
