Based in Tasmania, Huon Aquaculture is Australia’s second largest producer of Atlantic Salmon (in excess of 38,000 tonnes) and also farms and processes Rainbow Trout.

About the role A fantastic chance exists for an ADAS-qualified Diver to join the Huon team at our Storm Bay region.

As a Diver, you play an integral part in ensuring maintenance of Huon’s surface and sub-surface infrastructure, providing support through general dive and farm attendant duties.

Located at our Storm Bay site, this opportunity operates on a full-time basis with a 7-day on, 7-day off roster. The annual salary for this position is not less than $79423.00 plus superannuation.

Reporting to Subsea Management, your responsibilities include:

· Ensure a safety inspection of dive and PPE equipment daily.

· Undertake deckhand duties as directed by the supervisor.

· Perform necessary repairs to nets and equipment and performs general maintenance as required.

· Undertake subsea infrastructure inspections as required.

· Undertake safety drills periodically.

· Ensure appropriate standards of all subsea infrastructure maintenance.

· Undertake general farmhand duties as directed by management/supervisor.

· All Huon employees must demonstrate a commitment for the health and safety of themselves, their impact on others and undertake all reasonable workplace safety instructions.

· Any other duties or tasks as reasonably directed by Huon.

Qualifications

· Certificate III in aquaculture (diving) or ADAS qualification.

· Valid Restricted Coxswains (or ability to obtain).

· Current and Valid Driver’s licence.

· Current First Aid and Oxygen Resuscitation Certificate.

· You have knowledge of Australian Diving and Work Health and Safety regulations.

· You have demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

· You have well-developed communication skills and the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

· Experience in a similar role within the diving or aquaculture industry.

· A genuine commitment to ongoing learning and self-development and proactive focus to continually improve processes.
