Senior Draftsperson - Lead the Drafting Team

This is an opportunity to step into a senior position with an established and growing residential builder, taking ownership of the drafting function and playing a key role in how projects are delivered across the business.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Draftsperson / Drafting Team Lead who brings strong technical capability, commercial awareness and the confidence to lead people, manage workflow and drive quality.

You will lead a small Melbourne based team while working closely with an established senior drafting team offshore. The role sits at the intersection of technical drafting, team leadership, quality assurance and project delivery.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Lead, mentor and support a team
- Manage drafting workflow, priorities and project deadlines
- Oversee the delivery of a high volume residential drafting portfolio
- Review and sign off documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Maintain high standards across construction documentation and QA
- Coordinate workflow and technical requirements
- Identify bottlenecks, resolve issues and ensure projects remain on track
- Work closely with Construction, Estimating,



Design and other internal stakeholders
- Review and improve existing drafting processes, systems and efficiencies

You will bring:

- Strong experience within volume or production residential building
- Previous experience as a Senior Draftsperson, Drafting Team Leader or similar
- Advanced capability across Revit or AutoCAD/CAD
- Strong knowledge of residential construction documentation
- Experience reviewing drawings and maintaining rigorous QA standards
- Previous experience leading, mentoring or coordinating other drafters
- Solid understanding of drafting standards, accuracy and buildability
- A structured and commercially minded approach to workflow and deadlines
- The confidence to identify problems, make decisions and drive solutions
