The Sponsorship Manager will report to the Head of Marketing, Communications and Media, and work with our members and Indigenous businesses to advance economic development for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, with a focus on corporate partnerships and sponsorships for events including Connect. The Sponsorship Manager will also look to find innovative solutions to drive a pipeline of revenue from sponsorship agreements and assist in building strong relationships with our members and partners to meet their KPIs. The functions of the position will continue to evolve with the needs of the organisation and our stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Cultural leadership and advocacy
- Demonstrate and uphold the organisations cultural values in all work and interactions.
- Promote a culturally safe, respectful and inclusive workplace for staff, suppliers, members and other stakeholders.
- Incorporate appropriate cultural practices and protocols into everyday work.
- Support initiatives that strengthen Indigenous workforce participation and contribute to culturally informed ways of working.
Partnership and relationship management
- Foster and strengthen relationships with Supply Nation members through engagement initiatives such as Connect, Trade Fairs and other event initiatives as required.
- Outsource partners to support the attendee experience at Supply Nation Regional Trade Fairs and Connect, including travel, accommodation, parking etc.
- Manage the contract deliverables from our Partners through marketing promotions, when required.
Sponsorship and program development
- Manage the sponsorship strategy to drive revenue, build brand awareness and advocacy in market for Supply Nation.
- Develop and implement sponsorship strategies, identify new prospects, and create tiered sponsorship packages to secure sponsors for Supply Nation’s annual flagship event, Connect.
- Manage all contract deliverable for all MOUs, VIPs and partnerships for key events.
- Support the Event Manager in forecasting, pricing and ticket allocation for sponsorships for events.
- Deliver the close out report, sponsorship report and manage all Connect debriefs with sponsors.
- Responsible for the sourcing, management and risk analysis for all external sponsorships
- Measure and report on the success of sponsorship initiatives, analysing data to show brand alignment, engagement, and return on investment (ROI).
Contract management and team collaboration
- Ensure contract deliverables and KPI’s for partners are met, including adhering to reporting requirements in line with timeframes.
- Work effectively and collaboratively with other team members, including the Member Services and Supplier Services team, to ensure effective communication and reporting of contract deliverables for sponsorship packages.
- Work with the Head of Marketing, Communications and Media, Events Manager and Marketing Manager to ensure effective communication and promotion of sponsors.
- Develop and monitor the performance of Supply Nation sponsorships through budgets.
- Apply management skills that optimise the use of the organisation’s financial resources.
- Responsible for financial compliance for sponsorships, including regular feedback on invoices and budgets.
- Responsible for invoices from sponsors to be paid within the adequate timeframe.

- Escalate all workplace hazards, incidents or near misses in line with organisational procedures, and take immediate action to mitigate risks where appropriate.

safety and wellbeing practices.
Key selection criteria
Specialist knowledge and attributes
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous societies, cultures and issues affecting Indigenous Australians in business. Demonstrated experience with change management principles.
- Demonstrated experience in membership service delivery and partnership management.
- Demonstrated experience in supplier diversity and procurement in corporate and government agencies.
- Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills to deliver outcomes on time.
- A strong commitment to superior customer service.
- Demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated people management skills, management skills, including financial management skills.
- High level of competence in using IT applications e.g. Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, CRM, etc.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Degree or higher qualification in Business, Economics, or Business development in the membership/corporate setting.
- Experience in working with C-levels in large companies and government agencies.
- Established corporate, government and industry networks.
- Experience in working in a small, start-up team environment.
- Experience in advising senior executives and boards on creative and innovative revenue raising activities in a not-for-profit environment.
- High level presentation and speaking skills to engage audiences from all levels of business, including C-suite level.
- High-level administrative and communication skills including the ability to prepare reports, proposals, presentations, sponsorship proposals, business letters and general correspondence.
Additional requirements
- Attendance at after hours’ meetings may be required.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and across geographies as interstate travel may be required.
- Interstate travel may be required.
