Brisbane Boys' College is an established GPS day and boarding school founded in 1902, dedicated to developing boys into worthy leaders and good citizens. Located just four kilometres from Brisbane's centre, we educate students from Prep to Year 12.

About the Role

Brisbane Boys’ College is seeking an enthusiastic, suitably experienced educator to take on a full-time, fixed term 12-month contract role commencing in 2027, teaching Design and Technology within the Technology Department.

Working with students from Years 5 to 12 across the Technology Department, you will be empowered to create and deliver engaging, flexible and intellectual learning experiences that challenge and inspire the boys in our programs. You will also be actively engaged in the College’s Co-curricular and Pastoral Care programs.

Key Responsibilities

Inspire the next generation of problem solvers by fostering creative, innovative and purposeful design thinking.

Teach Design and Technology across the Junior and Secondary School, developing students’ confidence, creativity and practical problem-solving skills.

Teach practical technologies, including Woodwork and Metalwork, through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

Teach Senior Design, challenging students to apply design thinking, innovation and problem-solving to authentic and complex design challenges.

Utilise contemporary 3D modelling and design technologies, with a working knowledge of current software or a willingness to learn BBC’s preferred platforms.

Design and implement intellectually challenging learning experiences that value diversity, promote creativity and leverage Information Technology as a tool for learning.





Assess and report constructively on student learning.

Support personal development and participation in society.

Create and maintain safe and supportive learning environments particularly in relation to behaviour management aimed at building positive and authentic relationships with students.

Foster positive and productive relationships with students, families, staff and the community.

Be actively involved in the College’s Co-curricular program.

Be actively involved in the College’s Pastoral Care program.

Commit to reflective practice and ongoing qualified renewal.

Be positive in support of the College’s traditions and Christian ethos.

Perform conscientiously and competently the duties, teaching and non-teaching, as assigned by the Headmaster or delegate.

Maintain such records as may be required by the College.
