The People Branch within the Chief Operating Officer Division at ASD, is responsible for developing and implementing key people strategies, policies and programs that support delivery of the our strategic objectives.

The ASD Recruitment and On-boarding (R&O;) Section within the People Branch plays a critical role in managing and coordinating recruitment to deliver REDSPICE growth. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the Section administers recruitment processes to ensure timely and effective placement of candidates across ASD. These recruitment pathways include ongoing and non-ongoing engagements, transfers, promotions and Entry Level Programs. The R&O; Section also supports candidates throughout their on-boarding journey, providing guidance and assistance to ensure a seamless transition into the organisation.

The key duties of the position include:

We are seeking energetic, highly organised and task-orientated EL1 Recruitment & On Boarding professionals to lead a diverse and collaborative team supporting the evolution and strategic direction of the organisation.

In this role, you will be responsible for an allocated group within ASD, where you will oversee the recruitment and on-boarding processes. You will contribute to the development and implementation of recruitment strategies that align with ASD’s organisational goals and objectives, while building and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships.

Key Duties:

- Provide expert advice to business area on recruitment, selection, and onboarding best practices.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure recruitment and onboarding processes comply with employment legislation, privacy requirements, and organisational policies.




- Review and improve procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Analyse recruitment and onboarding data to support workforce planning and decision-making.
- Manage and mentor a small team of recruitment officers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor recruitment metrics and prepare reports as required
- Manage relationships with external recruitment partner and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, and enhancing the overall candidate and new employee experience to support organisational workforce objectives.

Eligibility

To be eligible for employment with ASD, you must meet all of the following eligibility criteria:

- Australian Citizenship - Applicants must be an Australian citizen. Only in exceptional circumstances can this requirement be waivered.
- Organisational Suitability Assessment – The preferred applicant will be required to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (see Organisational Assessment section).
- Security Clearance - It is a condition of employment that applicants are willing and able to obtain and maintain the requisite security clearance for the duration of their employment with ASD.
- Health Assessment - The preferred applicant may be required to undergo a medical examination conducted by the Agency’s preferred medical provider.

Notes

Desirable Qualifications, Experience or Training

Highly desirable skills, qualifications and experience; however not mandatory:

- Proven experience in the recruitment & on-boarding functions.
- Diploma and/or Degree in Human Resources
- Other industry specific qualifications or experience
- Ability to lead teams in a fast paced workplace.
