Perth Festival is Australia’s longest-running arts festival and for nearly 75 years we’ve brought world-class performance, music, film, visual arts and literary events to Perth’s shores on the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River). Founded by the University of Western Australia and grounded on Noongar Boodjar, we’re proud to celebrate the oldest living cultures in the world alongside contemporary arts practice, bringing decades of cultural growth to audiences across Western Australia every summer.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant & Governance Officer to provide high-level executive support to our CEO and Artistic Director along with coordinating governance activities for the Board and Board Committees. You’ll play a key role in keeping the organisation running smoothly, ensuring effective stakeholder communication and strong governance processes that support outstanding decision making across the Festival.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and Artistic Director, this permanent full-time role (76 hours per fortnight) offers hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive, confidential executive support to the CEO and Artistic Director, including calendar and travel management, correspondence and briefing papers
- Coordinate Board and Committee meeting schedules, prepare and distribute papers, and record accurate minutes and actions
- Act as a key point of contact for Board members,
senior stakeholders and external partners
- Support compliance with governance frameworks, policies and legislative requirements, including Board elections and inductions
- Maintain governance registers, records and documentation systems
- Coordinate executive office administration and support broader organisational projects as needed
- Identify and help implement improvements to governance and administrative processes
About You To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Demonstrated experience providing executive support to senior executives, CEOs or Boards
- Experience coordinating Board and Committee governance processes, including agendas, papers and minute-taking
- Highly developed organisational, planning and time management skills
- Excellent written communication and a sharp eye for detail
- The discretion to manage confidential and sensitive information
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
- The ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
It would also be great if you have a qualification in Business Administration, Governance or a related field, experience in the arts, events, not-for-profit or government sectors, and familiarity with company secretariat functions.
