Incumbents in this position serve as an assistant for the Executive Director of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC).

The Council and its Committees comprise elected and appointed officials along with senior level stakeholders from criminal and juvenile justice agencies, government administration and key cross-sector organizations like public health, human services, transportation, housing.

The purpose of the Council is to ensure the fair administration of criminal and juvenile justice by increasing effective communication, collaboration and planning; and, to improve the criminal and juvenile systems' operation through effective data collection, sharing and analysis crosscutting the local criminal and public health systems.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

- Works with the Fiscal Manager and Executive Director to apply for and manage grants that the Council may want to apply for.
- Monitors grant application, performance reports, and financial reports to ensure compliance with requirements and reporting deadlines.
- Monitors and updates the Fiscal Manager on other grant funded programs progress towards established goals and objectives, analyzes performance metrics, and ensures alignment with division priorities.
- Works with the Executive Director to set up budget and arranges for procurement of any equipment and supplies needed.
- Delivers classroom instruction of life skill programming to middle school students in St.

Louis Public

Schools and oversees league games in the Division of Corrections.

- May attend and participate in a variety of governmental and other meetings regarding CJCC matters.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

- Highly proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Data Utilization: Requires the ability to perform mid to upper-level data analysis including the ability to coordinate, strategize, systemize and correlate,



using discretion in determining time, place and/or sequence of operations within an organizational framework.

Requires the ability to implement decisions based on such data, and oversee the execution of these decisions.

- Human Interaction: Requires the ability to persuade, convince, influence, train and monitor, in favor of a desired outcome.
- Equipment, Machinery, Tools and Materials Use: Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or provide simple but continuous adjustment on equipment, machinery and tools such as computer terminal, telephone, calculator, photocopier, fax machine and/or materials used in performing essential functions.
- Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a variety of reference, descriptive and advisory data and information such as financial statements, budgets, contracts, bid specifications, press releases, city charter, ordinances, statutes, various policies, master plans, program reports, procedures, guidelines and non-routine correspondence.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; calculate percentage and decimals; develop and interpret descriptive and inferential statistical reports.
- Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of logical or synthesis functions involving planning and directing of interrelated activities or multiple departments. Ability to deal with several concrete and abstract variables in working out approaches to major problems.
- Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness and creativity required in situations involving the direction, control and planning of an entire program or multiple programs.
- Environmental Factors: Work is normally performed in an office setting under generally safe and comfortable conditions where exposure to irate individuals poses a very limited risk of injury.
- Physical Requirements: None.
- Sensory Requirements: Requires the ability to recognize and identify individual characteristics of shapes to clearly distinguish objects and sounds to communicate with others. Ability to sustain prolonged visual concentration.

Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Law, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field; plus three years of professional experience providing administrative and/or programmatic support to senior management or executive leadership. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Preferences:



At least one year of instructional experience or classroom teaching; at least one year of professional experience in law enforcement, legal services, or a violence prevention / human services organization.

License: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application and be able to present it upon request. Only qualified applicants who provide proof of a valid driver’s license will be considered for this position.

City Residence Preference Points

City residents who pass an examination for a position in the classified service and do not receive any other preference will receive a five (5) point preference on a scale of 100 points on the exam. An additional one (1) point shall be added to the passing score of City residents who receive any other preference on a scale of 100 points. City residents must have resided in the City for at least one (1) year at the time of filing their application to be eligible for the preference points.
