Short Stay Surgical Unit (SSSU) is the point of access for all adult patients admitted for elective surgery making it one of the busiest and most agile units at the Launceston General Hospital. SSSU also supports inpatient access to emergency surgical care and non-operative surgical care.

Launceston, located in the scenic northern part of Tasmania, is known for its delightful blend of historic architecture and natural beauty. The city is framed by lush landscapes, including the stunning Tamar River and rolling hills that create a captivating backdrop.
