About the role The role of the Facilities Manager is to oversee the day-to-day facilities management of a growing portfolio of retail, office, and industrial properties in NSW and Queensland. Essential aspects of the Facilities Manager's role include compliance, contractor management, project management and tenant engagement. The role requires operational knowledge of commercial property and strong contractor management skills.
The role is ultimately about ensuring the properties within the portfolio are operating in a highly functional, productive and cost-effective way. The ability to understand risks and issues, identify practical solutions, present recommendations and execute for best outcome, are all vital to the role.
Key responsibilities
- Effective contractor engagement and ongoing management, including implementation of service contracts where appropriate in conjunction with Facilities Management Team
- Ensuring the properties function well and present to a high standard, having regard to their age and market positioning
- Supporting the Property Management team through effective tenant engagement, including promptly responding to and resolving issues as they arise
- Overseeing and project managing capital expenditure projects as required on portfolio
- Supporting the Senior FM in maintaining and improving compliance and safety standards across the portfolio
- Work with the Senior FM to implement sustainability initiatives across the portfolio
- Work with the Senior FM with the introduction of preventative maintenance programs
- Preparing and managing operating and capital expenditure budgets in conjunction with the Property Management Team for the properties annually
- Reporting regularly to Property Management Team and Senior FM on the status of activity at the properties
- Undertake minor maintenance repairs when required
About you
- Minimum 3 years facilities management or complimentary industry experience in the retail, commercial and/or industrial sectors
- Knowledge of facilities management operations, industry best practise, building codes and legislative requirements relating to facilities management
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrable aptitude for self-direction and motivation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of BMS and other computer-based building management systems
- Current drivers licence
