Every Human Support Services is looking for a reliable, self-motivated female Disability Support Worker to join our team supporting clients in the Holmview area.

Due to the personal care requirements and preferences of the clients being supported, this position requires a female support worker.

Clear, fluent spoken English is also essential for this role due to the hearing impairment of a client being supported.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, use their initiative and recognise what needs to be done without needing constant direction.

Availability & Hours

This role offers approximately 15 hours per week.

Regular availability every Saturday morning between 8:00am and 1:00pm is an essential requirement of this role.

We understand that occasional changes happen. Where possible, we ask that Saturday shifts can be swapped to a Sunday or that as much notice as possible is provided. However, applicants must be able to commit to Saturday mornings as part of their normal ongoing availability.

Other shifts may be scheduled across the week at various times between 7:00am and 7:00pm. Shifts are generally between 3–5 hours, with longer shifts occasionally available.

- Client needs and compatibility
- Reliability and consistency
- Your ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative

What We're Looking For We need someone who is:
- Self-motivated and proactive – you can recognise what needs doing and get on with it without needing to be constantly directed




- Reliable and able to commit to agreed shifts
- Comfortable working independently in a client's home
- Confident supporting clients to build independence rather than simply doing everything for them
- A clear and fluent spoken English communicator, due to the hearing impairment of a client being supported
- Comfortable working in homes with cats, which may include assistance with tasks such as changing cat litter
- Respectful, patient and able to maintain appropriate professional boundaries

Previous disability support experience is welcome but not essential. We are more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.

The Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you may assist clients in their homes and community with:

- Personal care, including showering, bathroom assistance and grooming
- Domestic assistance, including cleaning, laundry, shopping and light household or yard tasks
- Meal preparation and meal planning
- Medication monitoring, with training and certification provided
- Social and community participation
- Transport to appointments, shopping and community activities
- Emotional and mental health support
- Budgeting, planning and everyday decision-making
- Building independent living and daily life skills




- Completing accurate shift notes and documenting progress towards client goals

Requirements

Successful applicants will need

- Female support worker – essential due to client personal care requirements and preferences
- Explicit and fluent spoken English – essential due to a client's hearing impairment
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check/Blue Card
- Police Check
- Current First Aid and CPR
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- NDIS Supporting Effective Communication Module
- Current Infection Control training
- Current driver's licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance

The position will initially be offered on a casual basis. For the right applicant, part-time employment may be considered following an initial casual period, allowing both the employee and Every Human Support Services to ensure the role is a suitable ongoing fit.

Pay: $35.00 – $57.20 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
