RFCTech is looking for an experienced Fibre Optic Technician to join our small, established team.
We’re seeking someone with genuine hands-on fibre optic experience who is confident working independently, but equally comfortable working alongside others when required. This is a practical, site-based role for someone who can take ownership of their work, solve problems and consistently deliver a high-quality result.
Experience working on NBN infrastructure is highly regarded.
About the role
Your work will include
- Installing, terminating and testing fibre optic cabling
- Fibre splicing, fault-finding and repairs
- Reading plans and following project specifications
- Completing accurate job records, test results and documentation
- Working independently across allocated jobs and client sites
- Collaborating with other technicians and trades when required
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and site presentation
- Communicating clearly with clients, contractors and the RFCTech team
About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated hands-on fibre optic experience
- Experience with fibre splicing, termination, testing and fault-finding
- NBN experience preferred
- The ability to work confidently and independently
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Solid attention to detail
- Accurate and thorough documentation skills
- A practical, reliable and solutions-focused approach
- Good communication and time-management skills
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- A current White Card
Relevant telecommunications registrations, endorsements and industry qualifications will be highly regarded.
