Finance Operations Manager

Sydney CBD | Hybrid Working | ASX-Listed Services Organisation | APAC Scope An exciting prospect has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join a leading ASX-listed services organisation in a highly visible role supporting operations across the Asia-Pacific region.

This is a broad leadership position within a sophisticated corporate finance function, offering exposure to financial controls, process improvement, systems implementation, audit, compliance and stakeholder management across a complex multinational environment.

Leading a team of five, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the Group's accounts payable function while driving continuous improvement, strengthening controls and supporting the ongoing growth of the business.

The Opportunity

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of the end-to-end accounts payable function across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

You will work closely with Finance, Tax, Financial Control and Operational teams to ensure the business maintains robust governance, scalable processes and a best-practice approach to payment operations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable Leadership

- Lead, mentor and develop a team of five Accounts Payable professionals.
- Oversee end-to-end supplier payment processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all payments.
- Manage vendor payment cycles and approval workflows while maintaining strong internal controls.
- Review aged payables and outstanding liabilities, working closely with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure timely settlement of obligations.
- Coordinate urgent and ad-hoc payment requirements while maintaining appropriate governance and approval standards.
- Ensure high levels of service delivery to both internal and external stakeholders.

Financial Operations & Controls




- Oversee employee expense reimbursement processes and corporate card administration.
- Manage card reconciliation processes and support the implementation of automated expense management solutions.
- Administer employee relocation allowances and related payment activities.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, financial controls and delegated authority frameworks.
- Develop, maintain and enhance SOX-compliant controls and processes across accounts payable operations.
- Support the month-end close process through the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.

Governance, Audit & Compliance
- Maintain a strong control environment to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Support external audit requirements and coordinate responses to audit requests.
- Maintain documentation, process maps and control frameworks across the function.
- Contribute to risk management activities and support ongoing compliance initiatives.
- Partner with Finance leadership to strengthen governance and operational effectiveness across the business.

Systems & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency and enhance scalability.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of finance systems and automation initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing manual processes and strengthening controls.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimise workflows and improve operational outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships across Finance, Operations,



Tax and Shared Services teams.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to support business initiatives and operational priorities.
- Contribute to management reporting, business reviews and finance transformation projects.
- Promote Finance as a value-adding business partner through proactive engagement and service excellence.

About You To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Proven experience leading a high-volume Accounts Payable function within a large, complex organisation.
- Previous people leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and compliance requirements.
- Experience working within a listed, multinational or highly regulated environment.
- Exposure to SOX controls, audit processes and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong systems aptitude and experience working with large ERP platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
