About the role

As the business continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Financial Controller to join our leadership team.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a critical role in managing the Group's financial reporting, forecasting, treasury, taxation compliance, inventory controls and finance operations. You will work closely with senior management, providing financial insights and contribute directly to strategic business decisions.

A key focus of the role will be delivering accurate monthly cash flow reporting and maintaining an integrated 3-way forecasting model covering Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow to support business planning and growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideally suited to a finance skilled who combines strong technical accounting skills with commercial acumen and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

- Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial analysis, Board reports and performance commentary.

- Prepare and maintain an integrated rolling three-way forecast covering Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.

- Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity,



working capital and daily cash positions.

- Review Balance Sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, provisions and supporting schedules.

- Support annual budgeting, strategic planning, scenario analysis and financial modelling.

- Manage taxation compliance including GST, FBT and annual tax requirements

- Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, banks and advisers.

- Oversee inventory accounting, stocktake programs, work in progress, Goods in Transit and inventory reconciliations.

- Partner with Operations and Logistics to improve inventory accuracy, turnover and working capital performance.

- Review commercial contracts, leases and supplier agreements and provide financial input to management.

- Strengthen financial systems, governance processes and internal controls.

- Provide guidance and escalation support across Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities.

- Lead, mentor and support direct reports across finance and IT functions.

- Contribute to process improvement, integration and strategic business projects.

About you To succeed in this role, you will have:

- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline, plus CPA, CA or equivalent professional qualifications.

- At least five years’ experience in a Financial Controller,



Senior Accountant or similar finance leadership role.

- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation, accrual accounting and financial controls.

- Experience managing month-end and year-end reporting, audits and external financial stakeholders.

- Proven experience with three-way forecasting, cash flow, budgeting, financial modelling and working capital management.

- Experience in inventory accounting, stock control and reconciliations.

- Advanced Excel skills and experience using an integrated ERP system, ideally NetSuite.

- Solid commercial judgement, communication and analytical skills.

- The ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and lead and develop finance team members.

Experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:
- Manufacturing, distribution, logistics or another inventory-intensive environment

- Multi-entity, international or multi-currency operations.

- NetSuite OneWorld and Power BI

- Treasury management, Board reporting and financial system improvements.
