/n About the role /n Mater Private Hospital Townsville has an exciting opportunity for a Floor Coordinator in our Perioperative Services unit. /n Within this full-time permanent role, the successful candidate will work as part of the senior staff team to meet the departmental objectives and develop the work of the theatre service. /n Mater is Queensland’s largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to take the next step in their nursing career. /n Salary range: $54.21 - $58.08 per hour (Registered Nurse Level 2) plus superannuation and salary packaging

/n $107,501 - $115,161 per annum plus superannuation and salary packaging /n What you’ll be doing /n As the Floor Coordinator you will be responsible for ensuring a safe, efficient, and effective service is provided to patients and Visiting Medical Officers within Perioperative Services on a day-to-day basis. You will provide clinical expertise, direct support and coaching to staff within the department, with a clear focus on the patient experience and quality of services. /n /n

- Ensuring appropriate staff allocations and skill mix to reflect the changing workload and to meet patient needs.

/n

- Coordinate all clinical activity to maximize efficiency and ensure staff meal breaks and reliefs are arranged in a timely manner.

/n

- To act as a clinical expert within the area of work demonstrating specialist knowledge, skills, and expertise.

/n

- To liaise and co-operate with the wards, other departments, and personnel in the hospital.

/n

- Work collaboratively with other team leaders in the theatre department in the daily running and organisation of theatre activity and provide support in all clinical areas as necessary.

- To maintain and raise the clinical standard of care through the process of audit, and as a result implement changes in best practice.

/n

- Identify and communicate quality improvement ideas to senior staff to enhance patient care.

/n /n About you /n To be successful in this role you will meet the following in the following: /n /n

- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner’s Regulation Agency with a current licence to practice as a Registered Nurse.

/n

- Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in a clinical area or specialty applicable to the unit.

/n

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Perioperative Nursing.

/n

- Demonstrated advanced ability to communicate complex and challenging information constructively.
