About the role

This is an ongoing Forklift Operator role at the Salisbury site of a national transport and distribution services company. The role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and accurate handling of freight, vehicles and yard operations. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail and a commitment to safety, customer service and operational targets.

Shift times are 5am - 1pm, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

- Counterbalance forklift duties

- Safely load, unload, sort, scan, store, and restrain freight in accordance with manual handling procedures

- Prepare vehicles for loading/unloading including drawing back curtains, removing gates and straps, and securing loads afterward

- Ensure freight is labelled, scanned, and processed accurately to meet targets and scanning accuracy requirements

- Examine freight for damage, discrepancies, or incorrect labelling and report immediately to a supervisor

- Allocate freight correctly by postcode, destination, and branch,



ensuring productive workflow and minimal double handling

- Conduct visual inspections of pallets, trailers, and equipment, reporting any defects or concerns promptly

- Only operate equipment you are trained and licensed to use

- Follow all company policies, procedures, work instructions, and site-specific safety rules, including the Traffic Management Plan

- Immediately report all incidents, hazards, unsafe acts, and damages, ensuring accurate and timely documentation

About you

- You have the right to work in Australia

- You have completed a Functional Assessment with Sidekicker

- You are capable of lifting and moving parcels up to 25kgs (with two people if needed)

- Strong attention to detail

- Team player

- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
