ACE Community Colleges is seeking an experienced and engaging Foundation Skills Trainer to support adult learners across the Coffs Harbour and Grafton region.

This role is ideal for a trainer who understands that successful foundation skills delivery is about more than literacy and numeracy. We are looking for someone who can build confidence, support learners experiencing barriers to education and employment, and create a safe and encouraging learning setting.

We are looking for someone who has:

- Current training and assessment credentials that meet RTO requirements
- Experience delivering Foundation Skills, LLN or similar programs
- Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in counselling, community services or learner support
- Strong skills in engaging adults who may have had negative previous experiences with education
- The ability to identify individual learning and support needs and adapt training accordingly
- Experience supporting learners experiencing barriers to employment, education or participation
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and facilitation skills
- Strong administration and compliance skills
- Current industry knowledge and commitment to professional development
- Ability to travel between Coffs Harbour and Grafton where required





Experience delivering qualifications from the Foundation Skills Training Package will be highly regarded.

You will be patient, practical and approachable, with the ability to balance supportive learner engagement with clear expectations and progress.

Your counselling or support experience will enable you to recognise when learners need additional assistance, provide appropriate support within professional boundaries, and connect learners with other services where necessary.

Most importantly, you will enjoy helping adults build the skills and confidence they need to take their next step into further training, employment or greater independence.
