TarongaZoo Sydney is looking for an experienced and motivated Wildlife Hospital Concierge to join our Wildlife Operations team!

Connect guests with the incredible work of the Taronga Wildlife Hospital. You’ll share stories of wildlife health, veterinary care, conservation and research, while helping coordinate the people, patients and activities that keep the hospital running smoothly.

About the Role…

The primary role of the Wildlife Hospital Concierge is to provide administrative support to the Taronga Wildlife Hospital team while also delivering a welcoming and engaging experience for zoo guests. The role combines administrative and operational support functions with public engagement activities, helping connect guests with Taronga’s wildlife health, veterinary and conservation work through face-to-face presentations, information sharing and exceptional customer service.

Deliver engaging and informative guest learning experiences, including face-to-face presentations and audio-visual support, interpreting the role of wildlife health, veterinary care (procedures), conservation and research.

Undertake the full range of administrative support services for the Taronga Wildlife Hospital including inputting and maintaining records, supporting invoicing and procurement, and the coordination and preparation of internal and external reports.

Assist with the coordination of student placements and education programmes

Admit wildlife patients following established protocols and engage with members of the public and wildlife rescue and rehabilitation groups as required and in collaboration with the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Rescue Coordinator

Assist with animal transactions by ensuring administrative compliance with health-related export and import of animals and specimens

Maintain and coordinate Memberships, Licences, Subscriptions and office equipment/stationery.





Perform reception duties, including admission of animals brought into Taronga Wildlife Hospital, greeting and assisting visitors, and screen, prioritise and attend to general phone, e-mail and mail enquiries.

Work collaboratively with the other Wildlife Concierge Officer to coordinate administrative functions, visitor engagement activities and the day-to-day operation of the Taronga Wildlife Hospital.

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have:

Key knowledge and experience

Demonstrated experience in administration, customer service, visitor services or a similar coordination role.

Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a busy operational workplace.

Experience maintaining accurate records, databases and reports with a high level of attention to detail.

Proficient use and knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) and other databases

Obtain and maintain a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) at own expense.

Ability to work a roster that includes a minimum of two weekends per month to support the Taronga Wildlife Operations

TB screening and rabies vaccination. Q fever.
