About Us

Thurgoona Bakery Cafe is an established retail bakery and cafe serving the Thurgoona and greater

Albury–Wodonga community. We produce a full daily range of breads, rolls, pies, pastries and cakes on site using traditional methods. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Baker to join our production team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate commercial baking equipment and machinery used for mixing, rolling, moulding,

dividing and cutting dough and pastry products
- Measure, weigh and assess ingredients and raw materials to ensure consistency, yield and

product quality
- Prepare and bake a range of bread, roll and pastry products by managing mixing, shaping,

proving, baking, cooling and de-panning processes
- Perform dough preparation tasks including kneading, fermenting, cutting, moulding and

shaping by hand or machine
- Set, control and monitor oven temperatures and visually inspect products to achieve correct

baking results
- Prepare a variety of sweet and savoury pastry fillings in line with daily production requirements
- Apply glazes and decorative finishes to buns, pastries and cakes using creams, icings and other

toppings
- Coordinate the loading and unloading of ovens and oversee batch production to ensure





efficiency and product consistency
- Maintain cleanliness of baking trays, tins, ovens and workstations, including cleaning, greasing

and general upkeep of equipment
- Inspect production areas and equipment before each bake to ensure compliance with food

safety and workplace health and safety standards
- Assist with stock rotation, ingredient ordering and recording of production quantities.

- Base salary of $80,000 – $88,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills and
