Cider Maker & Production Manager - The Apple Thief

The Apple Thief is looking for an experienced cidermaker or winemaker to take the lead in making our ciders and beverages at our cidery in Batlow.

This is a hands‑on role with genuine ownership of the production process – from locally grown apples and juice through fermentation, blending and maturation to the finished product.

Based in the heart of one of Australia’s great apple‑growing regions, you’ll have the prospect to work closely with growers and fruit, manage our existing cider range and help shape what we make next.

You’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the cidery, including fermentation and cellar work, production planning, quality control, blending, stabilisation, packaging and maintaining our production equipment and systems.

Just as importantly, we want someone who is curious about cider and enjoys experimenting. You’ll have the freedom to run trials, work with different apple varieties and ingredients, develop new products and continually improve the way we make our cider.

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has practical experience making cider, wine, beer or other fermented beverages




- Understands fermentation and beverage production
- Is comfortable taking ownership of a production facility
- Enjoys being hands‑on and solving problems
- Has good attention to quality and consistency
- Is organised and able to plan production from fermentation through to packaging
- Is interested in experimentation and new product development
- Wants to be part of a small team where they can have a real influence on what gets made

Cider experience would be fantastic, but it isn’t essential. An experienced winemaker with the right skills and an interest in cider would be equally worth talking to.

This isn’t a desk‑based production management role. You’ll be making cider, running the cellar, tasting products, working with equipment and getting involved in the practical side of production.

Full‑time Batlow, NSW. Salary negotiable based on experience.
