The Tahbilk Estate gardens offer a diverse range of landscapes that have evolved over many years, including formal gardens, native plantings, established lawns, roadsides and areas that are continually being developed and improved.

Surrounding our vineyards, Cellar Door and Restaurant are established lawns, an orchard and significant National Trust-listed trees that form an important part of Tahbilk's history and character.

Our Restaurant overlooks the Estate's beautiful wetlands, which incorporate intricate internal billabong systems that create a unique microclimate and provide an important habitat for a diverse range of plant and animal life.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Gardener to join our small and dedicated team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the beautiful grounds of the Tahbilk Estate.

This is a permanent, full-time position Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 3.30pm.

Working across our gardens, grounds and surrounding estate, your responsibilities will include:

- Mowing and maintaining lawns and grassed areas

- Weeding and general garden maintenance

- Pruning and maintaining trees, shrubs and plants

- Hedging

- Irrigation maintenance

- Spraying and chemical application

- Operating chainsaws and other garden machinery





- General grounds and garden maintenance

- Assisting with ongoing improvements to the Estate's gardens and grounds

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who has a genuine passion for gardening and horticulture, a keen eye for detail and takes pride in maintaining beautiful grounds.

You will enjoy working as part of a small team but also be comfortable working independently and managing your own tasks.

Ideally, you will have:

- Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks and Gardens

- Previous experience in gardening, grounds maintenance or horticulture

- Experience using manual and powered garden machinery

- Experience with irrigation, pruning, hedging and general garden maintenance

- The ability to safely use and handle chemicals in accordance with OHS requirements and industry standards

- A robust commitment to safe work practices

- Good communication skills

- Excellent attention to detail

- Good organisation and time management skills

- A good level of physical fitness to undertake the requirements of the role

- A current driver's licence

- A willingness to undertake training and further develop your skills
