We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded General Manager to lead our Mercure Kawana Waters Hotel on the Sunshine Coast. This is a unique opportunity to oversee a key hospitality asset, driving operational excellence, guest satisfaction, team engagement, and strong commercial outcomes in one of Australia's premier tourism destinations.

As General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the ongoing success of the property, leading a dedicated team and ensuring the hotel continues to deliver exceptional experiences for guests while achieving its financial and strategic objectives

About The Role

Based on the Sunshine Coast General Manager is responsible for the overall operational and commercial performance of the property.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including accommodation, food and beverage, guest experience, revenue management, financial performance, people leadership, sales and marketing, compliance, and property improvement initiatives.





You will be an engaging and visible leader who fosters a positive workplace culture while driving strong business performance and operational excellence.

In The Role You Will

- Lead the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and service standards.
- Drive commercial performance through effective revenue management, forecasting, budgeting, and market analysis.
- Develop, coach, and inspire a high-performing team, creating a culture focused on accountability, engagement, and customer excellence.
- Oversee all accommodation, food and beverage, conferencing, and guest service operations.
- Manage financial performance, including budgets, profitability, cost control, and reporting.
- Build strong relationships with local tourism partners, industry stakeholders, suppliers, and the broader Sunshine Coast community.
- Lead local sales and marketing initiatives to maximise occupancy, revenue, and market presence.
- Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvement and business growth.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, licensing, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with the property owners and NRL leadership on asset enhancement and continuous improvement projects.
- Provide regular operational and commercial reporting to senior management

Ideally You Will Have





- Proven experience as a General Manager, Hotel Manager, or senior hospitality leader within a hotel, resort, or large accommodation venue.
- Strong knowledge of hotel operations, including accommodation, food and beverage, revenue management, finance, and people leadership.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, profitability, and operational performance.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution.
- Knowledge of the Sunshine Coast tourism and hospitality market would be highly regarded.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
- A collaborative and solutions-focused approach with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
