The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Accountant to join our Sydney CBD finance team. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent accounting graduate, or someone completing their degree, who wants practical experience across a broad range of accounting activities rather than a narrowly defined role.

You will work closely with our Management Accountant and senior management, receiving practical coaching while progressively taking ownership of regular finance tasks. The role offers a clear foundation for progression to Assistant Accountant and beyond.

Key responsibilities

· Process and support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities

· Prepare bank, supplier, debtor and trust account reconciliations

· Post transactions to the general ledger and assist with month-end close

· Assist with invoices, client payments, trust transfers and daily or periodic finance reports

· Support cash-flow preparation, budgeting, forecasts and variance analysis

· Assist with financial reporting, working papers and audit requirements

· Support BAS, PAYG, payroll tax and other statutory or regulatory reporting under supervision

· Maintain accurate finance records, schedules and supporting documentation

· Contribute to process improvements and provide general finance administration support

What you will bring

· A completed or near-completed degree in Accounting,



Commerce or a related discipline

· A genuine interest in building a professional accounting career; plans to commence CA or CPA studies will be viewed favourably

· Strong numerical ability, accuracy and attention to detail

· An analytical approach and confidence investigating and resolving discrepancies

· Good Microsoft Excel skills and confidence learning accounting and business systems; Xero experience is advantageous

· Clear spoken and written English, with qualified communication skills

· Mandarin or Cantonese language skills would be an advantage; the ability to communicate in both would be even more beneficial

· Good organisation, time management and the ability to meet recurring deadlines

· A positive, reliable and collaborative approach, with a willingness to learn and accept feedback

· Appropriate Australian working rights
