Bring your energy, passion and expertise to our brand-new George Town Aquatic, Health and Wellbeing Centre! As a Group Fitness Instructor, you’ll lead fun, inclusive and engaging classes for people of all ages and abilities. You’ll create a welcoming environment where participants feel confident, supported and inspired to achieve their fitness goals, while helping deliver a safe and positive experience for our community.

About the Role and You

As a Group Fitness Instructor, you’ll play an important role in creating an active, welcoming and inclusive environment at the George Town Aquatic, Health and Wellbeing Centre. You’ll lead engaging group fitness classes that encourage people of all ages and abilities to move, connect and enjoy being active.

You’ll bring energy, professionalism and a strong focus on safety to every class, providing guidance and encouragement to help participants feel confident and supported. From setting up and delivering sessions to building positive relationships with our customers, you’ll help create an exceptional experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

Working as part of a supportive team alongside fitness staff, lifeguards and Learn to Swim Instructors, you’ll contribute to a positive workplace culture and the ongoing development of our programs. steeped in history, dotted with towering lighthouses and spectacular coastline, and boasting crayfish, yachting, diving, world class mountain bike trails, wineries, and whiskey distilleries, and diverse and visible flora and fauna. Position Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging group fitness classes for all ages and abilities.

- Create a safe, inclusive and motivating environment for participants.

- Provide guidance, supervision and encouragement throughout each class.

- Deliver classes within the scope of your qualifications and capabilities.

- Build positive and skilled relationships with customers.

- Set up and pack down equipment and facilities for each session.

- Stay up to date with group fitness techniques, trends and best practices.

- Promote safe exercise practices and a strong focus on health and wellbeing.

- Participate in training, meetings and professional development opportunities.

- Contribute to a positive team culture and continuous improvement of programs.

Selection Criteria

1.



Relevant qualifications and experience in fitness, including Certificate III or IV in Fitness and relevant Group Fitness qualifications.

2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect positively with people of all ages and abilities.

3. Passion for group fitness and wellbeing, with the ability to deliver engaging, motivating and inclusive classes.

4. Commitment to health and safety, including current First Aid and CPR certification and a solid understanding of safe exercise practices.

5. Ability to build positive customer relationships and create a welcoming environment that encourages participation and confidence.

6. Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement, including staying current with industry trends, techniques and best practices.
