The Review Unit manages administrative reviews of decisions made by workers' compensation insurers determining workers' entitlements to compensation and matters affecting employers' insurance policies and premium. The Review Unit also manages work, health and safety, electrical safety, workers' compensation and labour hire licensing internal reviews, undertaking a determination regarding the validity of prohibition and improvement notices issued by Inspectors, compliance notices issued by Authorised Persons and decisions affecting labour hire licences.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Review Officer, Review Unit, you will work autonomously to conduct timely, fair and well-governed independent reviews of decisions by insurers on workers' compensation claims and policies, primarily for complex cases. You will also conduct timely, fair and well-governed internal reviews of work health safety, electrical safety and labour hire licensing decisions made by officers exercising compliance and licensing powers. These will be done based on relevant legislation, including but not limited to the:

- Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003;
- Work, Health and Safety Act 2011;
- Electrical Safety Act 2002; and

What We're Looking For

- Experience in case management, dispute resolution, or review processes within insurance, workers' compensation, or related sectors.
- Strong knowledge of legislation and the ability to interpret and apply case law (or the ability to learn quickly).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to manage sensitive conversations.
- Highly organised, adaptable, and resilient under time pressures.
- Experience handling psychological injury claims is highly regarded.
