Help deliver the 2026 Victorian State Election

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) is actively recruiting a range of paid supervisor-level election roles across the Ballarat region.

These roles are critical to the successful delivery of the 2026 Victorian State Election and offer the chance to lead teams, coordinate election activities, and contribute to an important democratic event.

Whether you are looking to expand your leadership experience, earn additional income or make a meaningful contribution to your community, election work provides a unique opportunity to be involved in one of Victoria's largest civic events. Training and support will be provided.

About the roles

We are currently recruiting for a range of essential supervisor-level election positions across the region. Depending on the role that best matches your skills, experience and availability, you may be:

leading and supporting election staff

coordinating election activities and projects

monitoring work and maintaining quality standards

resolving issues and responding to operational challenges

Some roles involve several weeks of work before or after election day, while others focus on key election delivery periods.

About you

You do not need previous election experience. We will train you in election processes and systems.

We are looking for people who can:

communicate clearly and work respectfully with different people

organise work and manage competing priorities

make sound decisions and solve problems





work accurately and pay attention to detail

support and motivate others to achieve team goals

lead, supervise or coordinate others

maintain accurate records

work collaboratively with a wide range of people

use Microsoft Office and learn new systems

handle sensitive information professionally

Depending on the role, you may; supervise staff, coordinate activities across multiple locations, use specialist election systems, travel between work sites or undertake work requiring sustained concentration and attention to detail.

Flexibility, reliability and a commitment to delivering successful election activities are essential.
