Head Barista – New Café Opening

Wildflower Society is opening a beautiful recent café in Hurstville in just three weeks, and we’re looking for an experienced Head Barista to lead our coffee operation from day one.

This is an important leadership role for someone who genuinely understands specialty coffee, takes pride in every cup and knows how to create a fast, consistent and welcoming coffee experience.

About the Role

As our Head Barista, you will:

- Lead the coffee section during busy services
- Produce consistently excellent specialty coffee
- Dial in and adjust grinders throughout the day
- Maintain espresso recipes, extraction quality and milk standards
- Train, support and develop other baristas
- Set expectations for speed, presentation and customer service
- Manage coffee ordering, stock levels and daily preparation
- Keep the coffee station clean, organised and service-ready
- Work closely with the management team during the opening and beyond

What We’re Looking For To be successful, you must have:
- Strong experience working with specialty coffee
- Previous experience as a Head Barista, Senior Barista or confident coffee leader
- Excellent knowledge of espresso extraction, grinder calibration and milk texturing
- The ability to maintain quality and speed during high-volume service




- Strong leadership and barista-training skills
- A warm, professional and customer-focused personality
- Excellent cleanliness, organisation and attention to detail
- Reliable availability, including weekends
- The ability to begin training before our opening
