About the role:

Carinity Education –Gladstone is seeking a passionate, experienced, and proactive Senior Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing (SYWSW) to join our committed and student focused team.

In this rewarding leadership role, you will guide and support our Youth Worker team to deliver consistent, trauma-informed and strengths-based support for young people. Leading by example, you will help create a safe and inclusive environment where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve positive personal and educational outcomes.

You will oversee student wellbeing casework, coach staff in effective youth work practices, support responses to complex behaviours and critical situations, and champion trauma-informed approaches across the School. You will also build solid relationships with students, families, colleagues and community support services to ensure young people receive coordinated and meaningful support.

What do you need for the role?

You are a compassionate and resilient youth work professional who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes. You bring strong leadership skills, a student-centred approach, and the ability to build trusting relationships in a dynamic and rewarding educational environment.

- A Diploma of Youth Work or a related discipline
- Experience supporting vulnerable, disengaged or marginalized young people to achieve positive outcomes
- A strong understanding of co-regulation practices and trauma informed approaches to behaviour support




- Demonstrated experience leading, supervising and mentoring Youth Workers in a complex or challenging environment
- Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, and monitoring of student’s Individual Learning Plans through a structured Support Committee
- Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Current Bus Licence (LR) or willingness to obtain
