About the role

Latrobe Retirement Village is seeking a reliable, friendly and motivated Casual Housekeeper to join our team. The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene throughout the Community centre including serviced apartments, communal facilities and public areas. The successful applicant will take pride in their work, have excellent attention to detail and enjoy working in a friendly retirement village environment where providing a welcoming and comfortable environment for our residents is a priority.

Key responsibilities

- Clean and maintain serviced apartments to a high standard
- Vacuum, mop and sweep floors
- Dust and wipe furniture, surfaces and fixtures
- Clean bathrooms, toilets, showers and other wet areas
- Change linen and make beds as required
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of public areas throughout the Village
- Clean common areas, corridors, foyers and other communal spaces




- Follow all Village policies, procedures and safe work practices
- Treat residents with dignity, courtesy and respect

About you

- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures
- Physically capable of undertaking cleaning duties throughout the working day
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and products
- Experience working in a retirement village, aged care, hotel or similar setting (desirable)
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety and safe chemical handling (desirable)
