About the role

Depending on each participant’s needs, your work will include:

- General house cleaning: vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, laundry, ironing and other routine domestic tasks
- Personal care: assisting with showering, toileting, dressing and compression wear
- Shopping with participants, meal planning, preparation and cooking
- Accompanying participants to appointments, outings and social activities
- Providing companionship and encouraging independence
- Following care plans and secure work practices
- Recording each visit and promptly reporting concerns or changes in a participant’s wellbeing

General cleaning is an essential and non-negotiable part of this position. Support Workers must be willing and able to carry out routine cleaning tasks throughout their employment, including vacuuming, mopping and bathroom cleaning. If you are seeking a care role that does not involve cleaning, this position will not be suitable.

About you

You are compassionate, dependable and comfortable working independently in participants’ homes. You communicate respectfully, follow instructions and speak up when someone’s needs change.

You will need:

- A relevant qualification in aged care or individual support
- Experience in personal care and general domestic assistance
- The ability to safely perform the cleaning and personal care duties of the roleGood communication, time management and problem-solving skills
- An understanding of the Aged Care Code of Conduct and Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, or a willingness to learn
- The ability to work respectfully with people from different cultural backgrounds
- A police check issued within the 12 months before your expected commencement date, in accordance with Timeless Support’s recruitment requirements
- Current First Aid and CPR training, or willingness to obtain these before commencing
- Willingness to participate in annual training, including manual handling training
- A current driver’s licence and reliable transport for travel between participants
