Our client is looking for a driven and knowledgeable Agricultural Sales Representative to join their team, serving clients in the Paarl, Western Cape region and surrounding areas. This role requires a blend of on-the-ground customer engagement and remote follow-up, focusing on building robust relationships and promoting agricultural products and solutions. You will be the key liaison between the company and its farming clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions to enhance their productivity and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales acumen combined with a deep understanding of agricultural practices and challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and sell a range of agricultural products, including seeds, fertilizers, crop protection chemicals, and equipment.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing clients in the agricultural sector.
- Understand client needs and provide expert advice on product application and best practices.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets in the assigned territory.
- Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations and product demonstrations.
- Provide post-sales support and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and identify further opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in agricultural sales or a related client-facing role.
- In-depth knowledge of farming practices, crop types, and agricultural inputs relevant to the region.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a sales territory effectively, incorporating both field visits and remote communication.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned region.
