About the role

Reporting to the Senior Economic Development Manager, you will support existing and emerging businesses while progressing industry, investment and corporation-led projects. The role combines commercial assessment, business support and hands-on project coordination across the Gove Peninsula, Laynhapuy Homelands and selected wider East Arnhem opportunities. For candidates with strong business advisory or coaching experience, the role can include a greater focus on one-to-one support, owner-manager development and business improvement.

A senior appointment may be considered for candidates with advanced advisory and project-delivery capability.

Key responsibilities

- Assess opportunities and prepare practical business cases, budgets and investment-readiness material
- Help business owners improve planning, pricing, cash flow, operations and growth strategies
- Support Traditional Owner corporation priorities, respecting cultural authority and local decision-making
- Coordinate projects, specialist advice, funding pathways and responses to practical business barriers




- Build partnerships, follow through on agreed actions and maintain explicit project and client records

About you

- Experience in business development, commercial management, business advisory, banking, accounting, consulting or economic development
- Understanding of business fundamentals, ability to interpret financial information and turn ideas into clear actions
- Strong relationship-building, communication and project-management skills
- Respectful, culturally responsive approach
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience
- Current Australian driver licence
- Willingness to travel to remote communities by 4WD and light aircraft
- Based in Nhulunbuy
