We are on the lookout for our new full-timeTenancy & Property Manager to join our Housing team! Reporting to the Housing Operations Manager, the Tenancy Officer role is responsible for the end-to-end management of Youngcare's Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) portfolio, delivering high-quality tenancy, property and facilities management services that support positive housing outcomes and long-term sustaining tenancies for tenants.
The role oversees tenant selection, vacancy management, tenancy administration, property maintenance, facilities coordination, compliance, contractor and stakeholder management, and complaint resolution. Working closely with tenants, families, support providers, referral partners and internal teams, the position ensures properties are well maintained, tenancies are successfully sustained, and housing solutions are appropriately matched to participant needs.
Through proactive relationship management, operational oversight and a customer-focused approach, the role ensures excellence in tenancy experiences, asset performance and portfolio outcomes across Youngcare's SDA Portfolio, for Youngcare and its Partners.
Key responsibilities
Manage all tenancy administration, including new leases, lease renewals, bonds, rent receipting, rent arrears, tenant recharges, sign-up documentation, inspections and tenant records for SDA Portfolio.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with SIL providers and key stakeholders to support tenancy sustainability, compliance requirements and positive tenant outcomes.
Prepare and submit required portfolio reports and undertake audits for portfolio, including rent receipting, lease renewals, vacancy, property management and compliance reporting (e.g. NRSCH, CHAFR and NCHS).
Conduct routine inspections, entry and exit inspections and reports and vacate processes are completed in accordance with Youngcare Procedures and Residential Tenancy Act
Ensure complaints are lodged and managed in accordance with Youngcare policies and NDIA legislation.
Management and coordination of Repairs and Maintenance requests;
Manage all Tenant engagement and the Tenant Survey process.
Manage SDA Vacancies including generating and drive new referrals on upcoming developments and focus on filling vacancies in existing homes across the portfolio.
About you
Previous Property / Real Estate experience is highly regarded;
Knowledge of legislation and process governing the NDIS is an advantage;
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills by being able to identify and implement solutions to address difficult situations;
Excellent writing skills, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting requests;
Thrives working collaboratively and being part of a team.
Active listening skills and is able to receive information and insights conveyed verbally.
Works to transparent objectives in a transparent manner; accepts responsibility for decisions and actions; seeks to achieve best use of resources; submits to appropriate scrutiny.
Experience using BASIX is highly desirable but not essential.
