Freight Sorter / Dock Hand – $39/hr | Dandenong South
Monday to Friday | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM | $39 per hour | Ongoing Work
ProQuest Recruitment is currently looking for reliable, physically fit and hardworking Freight Sorters / Dock Hands to join a leading transport and logistics company based in Dandenong South.
With peak season approaching, we are looking to build a strong team of reliable people who are ready to work and want ongoing Monday to Friday employment.
The Role
This is a hands-on and physical role working within a busy freight dock. You will be responsible for sorting and moving freight quickly and accurately to ensure deliveries are processed on time.
Your duties will include:
- Sorting freight according to destination and location
- Loading and unloading freight
- Lifting and moving cartons and freight
- Scanning and labelling freight
- Assisting with general dock and warehouse duties
- Working safely and efficiently as part of a team
- Maintaining accuracy while working at a rapid pace
- No Experience Required!
Previous freight or warehouse experience is not essential.
We are more interested in finding people who are:
- Reliable and punctual
- Physically fit and comfortable performing manual work
- Comfortable with regular lifting
- Willing to learn and work hard
- Able to work in a super-fast-paced environment
- Comfortable standing and working on your feet for the duration of the shift
- Able to read and confidently recognise the alphabet and different letters – this is an important part of accurately sorting freight
- Safety-conscious and able to follow instructions
- A team player with a positive attitude
Hours & Pay
- Monday to Friday
- 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- $39 per hour
- Ongoing work
- Some flexibility around start and finish times is required, particularly as we move into peak season
- Opportunity for additional hours as operational requirements increase
