About The Role:

We are looking for a Junior Front of House / Barback team member to join Stick in Port Macquarie.

This is an opportunity for someone interested in starting a career in hospitality, gaining hands-on experience, or building on existing hospitality or customer service skills.

We are a craft cocktail bar with a Japanese-inspired food offering, built around charcoal cooking, seasonality and a strong focus on thoughtful, low-waste hospitality. You’ll work across front of house and bar support, learning how a small, quality-focused venue operates while developing practical service, food and beverage skills.

You don’t need extensive hospitality experience. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, comfortable working with people, willing to learn and genuinely interested in developing their skills.

The Role:

- Welcome guests and help create a warm, relaxed and friendly experience
- Support the front of house team with table service, clearing and resetting
- Run food and drinks to tables efficiently
- Assist with venue set-up and pack-down
- Support the bar team during service with glassware, restocking, ice and general bar preparation
- Help maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked bar and service area
- Learn to use the POS system and assist with taking orders and processing payments
- Develop confidence interacting with guests and providing great customer service
- Learn our food and beverage menus and build your knowledge over time
- Gain practical knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and sake
- Assist with basic bar preparation and learn foundational bar skills
- Work closely with the front of house, bar and kitchen teams during service




- Develop the skills to take on greater responsibility as your experience grows

Skills & Experience:

- Previous hospitality experience is welcomed but not essential
- Customer service, retail or other people-focused experience is highly regarded
- An interest in starting or developing a career in hospitality
- Friendly, confident and comfortable working with people
- Reliable, organised and willing to learn
- Able to work efficiently and stay focused during busy periods
- Positive attitude and willingness to help across different areas of the venue
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Interest in food, cocktails and beverage culture
- Existing food, wine, cocktail or bar knowledge is a bonus, but not required
