About The Sleep Project The Sleep Project aims to be the first podcast where the content, vibe and curation are intentionally designed to help people wind down, get off their screens and ultimately go to sleep.
The mission is to challenge the mainstream attention economy, creating content people genuinely want to engage with, while ultimately encouraging them to switch off.
We're a small team building something entirely new, so you'll have real input into shaping the content from the ground up.
About the role
We're looking for a Junior Social Media Executive to help bring our content to life. This is a hands-on, creative role covering filming, editing, and posting. You'll report into our freelance Head of Social, based in London, with the rest of the team, including our founder, based in Melbourne and available to you day to day.
Responsibilities
- Ideating short form social formats
- Shooting simple face to camera pieces with podcast hosts
- Identifying trends for the podcast to jump on
- Taking clips from long form podcast episodes and editing them into short form content
- Scheduling and publishing across The Sleep Project's social channels
Skills required
- Based in Melbourne, or able to travel there easily for shoots
- Confident editing video, CapCut is our go-to but experience with other software (Premiere Pro, etc.) is just as welcome
- Comfortable filming on an iPhone
- A creative, social-first mindset, you understand what makes content work
- No prior experience required, we care more about instinct and enthusiasm than a CV
Location Melbourne based, or able to easily get to Melbourne for shoots. We'd love you to be available for a shoot day on 23rd and 24th October if possible, so bear these dates in mind.
Availability
Flexible day to day, but you'll need to commit to the following hours each month:
- October: 36 hours
- November: 56 hours
- December: 56 hours
- January: 28 hours
