About the role
We are recruiting for enthusiastic and reliable Retail Assistants and Meat Packers to join our team at our Wyong NSW location. This is a full-time position offering a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced retail setting, helping us deliver exceptional service to our customers whilst maintaining the highest standards of product quality and food safety. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to build a career in retail and the meat industry, with potential for growth and development.
Key responsibilities
- Providing excellent customer service, attending to customer enquiries and assisting with product selection and purchases
- Packing and preparing meat products to the highest standards, ensuring proper handling and presentation
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic and well-organised retail space, adhering to all food safety regulations and company standards
- Operating till systems accurately and processing customer transactions securely and efficiently
- Restocking shelves and displays with products, ensuring inventory is well-presented and clearly labelled
- Following all health and safety protocols,
including proper food handling procedures and personal hygiene requirements
- Supporting the team during busy periods, working collaboratively to ensure smooth operations
- Assisting with stock management and reporting any issues or discrepancies to management
- Promoting products to customers and contributing to achieving sales targets
What we're looking for
- Previous retail or customer service experience, ideally in a food retail or butchery environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with customers and colleagues
- Reliability and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Physical capability to handle meat products and work in a fast-paced retail environment
- Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues during busy trading periods
- Willingness to learn about meat products and develop product knowledge
- Basic numeracy skills and experience operating till systems (preferred)
- Flexibility with working hours, including potential weekend and public holiday shifts
