Casual | Approx. 30 hours per week | 7-day rotating roster | No late nights – finish by 6:00 pm

We are looking for a reliable, friendly and motivated Kitchen Hand / Cook to join our team at a supported accommodation facility in Mount Gravatt East.

This is initially a casual position offering approximately 30 hours per week, with a mix of shifts across a 7-day roster.

No late nights – all shifts finish by 6:00 pm.

This role would suit someone who enjoys preparing simple, nutritious, home-style meals and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen.

Working within supported accommodation is different from a busy restaurant kitchen. We are looking for someone who is patient, respectful and understands that providing good food and an enjoyable meal experience is an important part of the daily lives of the people we support.

About the Role

Your duties will include

- Preparing and cooking daily meals

- Producing nutritious, well-presented home-style food

- Following menus, recipes and individual dietary requirements

- Food preparation, portioning and meal service

- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen

- Washing dishes and completing general kitchen cleaning

- Following food safety, hygiene and temperature-control procedures

- Correctly labelling, dating and rotating stock using FIFO

- Receiving and putting away food deliveries

- Assisting with stock control and reducing food waste

- Working cooperatively with kitchen, support and facility staff

About You

We are looking for someone who:

- Has previous kitchen, cooking,



catering or food-service experience

- Is confident preparing and cooking everyday meals

- Is reliable, punctual and able to work independently

- Understands food safety and kitchen hygiene

- Is organised and able to manage daily kitchen tasks

- Has a friendly, respectful and patient approach

- Communicates well and enjoys working as part of a team

- Is available for a mix of weekday and weekend shifts across a 7-day roster

Formal chef qualifications are not essential. We are more interested in finding someone with valuable practical kitchen skills, a positive attitude and a genuine interest in preparing quality meals.

Experience within disability support, aged care, healthcare, community services or large-scale catering would be an advantage but is not essential.
