Key responsibilities
- Acting in general commercial litigation and contractual disputes
- Handling family law matters, including property settlements and parenting arrangements
- Managing wills and estates disputes, including Part IV family provision claims
- Preparing for and appearing at VCAT proceedings across various lists
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, affidavits, and court submissions
- Providing strategic, empathetic advice directly to a diverse client base
About you
- Admitted solicitor with a strong foundation in civil litigation
- 2 to 4 years of Post Admission Experience (PAE) in litigation, family law, and wills and estates
- Proven experience preparing court documents including pleadings, affidavits, defences,
applications, submissions and instructing counsel
- Confident advocacy skills, with prior experience appearing at VCAT and court
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and drafting abilities
- Exceptional communication skills and a highly empathetic, client-oriented approach
- Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities effectively
