About the role:

- Provide high-level policy and strategic advice to senior executives and key stakeholders.
- Oversee complex research, policy development and the preparation of submissions on significant reform issues.
- Manage key policy projects and contribute to the strategic direction of the department.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with practitioners, government bodies and other external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate:

- An experienced lawyer with a solid background in commercial law & policy
- Demonstrated people management experience is essential, with the ability to lead, mentor and develop a team of lawyers.
- Strong legal research, analytical and drafting skills,



with the ability to advise on complex legal and policy matters.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and collaborative leader who can manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
