About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Electronic Design Engineer to join our R&D; team based in Prestons, NSW. Reporting to the Lead Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development and continuous improvement of electronic products from concept through to production. As a senior member of the Electronics Design team, you'll provide technical leadership, contribute to innovative product development programs, and collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, sourcing and international stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer and market needs.

Key responsibilities

- Leading electronic design activities across recent product development and product improvement projects

- Conducting feasibility assessments and supporting business case development for new product concepts

- Designing analogue and digital electronic circuits and PCB layouts using Altium

- Developing, testing and validating prototypes and production-ready solutions

- Preparing technical documentation including BOMs, specifications, test reports, assembly instructions and product documentation

- Providing technical leadership and guidance to engineers within the Electronics Design team

- Supporting project teams with technical expertise, planning and execution activities

- Troubleshooting design and production issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions

- Collaborating with local and offshore suppliers, manufacturers and certification bodies

- Ensuring products comply with Australian and New Zealand standards and regulatory requirements

About you

- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline





- Demonstrated experience in electronic product design and development within a manufacturing or product development environment

- Strong analogue and digital circuit design capability

- PCB design experience using Altium Designer

- Experience developing products from concept through to production

- Knowledge of embedded firmware development

- Experience with one or more of the following: switch mode power supplies, LED lighting products, battery charging circuits, low-voltage electrical equipment

- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications and quality standards

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills

- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
