We have an exciting prospect for a Lead Water Engineer (Surface Water) to join our Perth team. As our client portfolio grows across the resources, energy, transport and industrial sectors, this role will help lead and expand our hydrology and surface water design capability. It's a great opportunity for a talented and passionate engineer to be part of a supportive and collaborative team.

Our civil and hydrology teams deliver a full suite of services including hydrology and flood modelling, surface water management, drainage and waterway crossing design, bulk earthworks design, roadwork design, stormwater design, utility services design, traffic engineering, rail and heavy haul rail engineering, and contract management. We provide design, documentation and construction support across all aspects of infrastructure.

Responsibilities

- Lead hydrological and hydraulic assessments from concept through to construction, including flood modelling, flood risk assessment and flood mapping
- Provide specialist surface water advice across Agilitus' multidisciplinary projects and to clients
- Undertake hydraulic design of waterway and drainage infrastructure — culverts, floodways, diversion drains, levees and scour protection
- Review and verify models, reports and deliverables prepared by others, and mentor junior engineers and hydrologists
- Prepare technical reports and support proposals, scopes and fee estimates for new work
- Liaise with clients, regulators and other disciplines through delivery

Here's what you'll need

- Tertiary qualification in civil, water or environmental engineering, with substantial relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated capability in hydrological and hydraulic modelling software — TUFLOW, RORB, HY-8 and GIS platforms such as QGIS
- Sound working knowledge of ARR 2019 and relevant Australian standards and statutory requirements




- Experience across the resources and/or transport infrastructure sectors, ideally in experience in remote WA
- Ability to advise on efficient, fit-for-purpose approaches to hydrological and hydraulic analysis.
