About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Store Manager for David Jones, Adelaide to lead our Adelaide retail location. This is a full-time position where you will take on a strategic leadership role within our retail operations. As Store Manager, you will be responsible for driving store performance, leading your team to excellence, and ensuring every customer interaction reflects our commitment to quality and service. This is a pivotal position that directly impacts the success of our Adelaide store and contributes significantly to our broader retail objectives.

Key responsibilities

Leading, motivating and developing a high-performing retail team to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service

Managing day-to-day store operations including stock management, visual merchandising, and maintaining store presentation standards

Driving sales performance through effective staff management, customer engagement strategies, and promotional activities

Implementing and maintaining company policies, procedures, and health and safety standards





Training and mentoring store staff to build a strong, capable team

Managing inventory levels and liaising with head office on stock requirements and replenishment

Building and maintaining strong customer relationships to encourage loyalty and repeat business

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Store Manager or similar senior retail management role, preferably in a department store or upmarket retail workplace

Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop retail teams of varying sizes

Strong commercial awareness with proven track record of driving sales and profitability

Excellent financial management skills including budgeting, P&L; responsibility, and cost control

Exceptional customer service orientation with the ability to build lasting customer relationships

Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with teams at all levels

Proficiency in retail management systems and point-of-sale technology

Knowledge of visual merchandising principles and best practices in retail display

Flexibility to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays as required

A passion for fashion and retail excellence
