About the Role:

n

We are looking for enthusiastic Unaccredited General Medicine Registrar to join our General Medicine team at Echuca Regional Health (ERH) from February 2027 for 12 months.

n

This position is suitable for Unaccredited General Medicine Registrars looking to gain valuable hands on experience in a growing sub-regional health service. This position will have opportunities to work closely with General Medicine Physicians, Rural Generalists and other rotational registrar treating a wide range of patients. There will be a range of other skill development aspects including supervisor of junior staff and providing education and training.

The Medical Ward incorporates 24 general and 6 high dependency (HDU) beds. The ward is supported by General Physicians, Rural Generalists, 3 BPT registrars, 3 unaccredited registrar, 9 HMOs and 3 interns, working with a team of nursing and allied health care staff. There are three medical units, with one led by Rural Generalists and the other two by staff Physicians.

ERH is an excellent sub-regional health service which services a catchment population of approximately 45,000. ERH provides a comprehensive range of health services, including: emergency; medical/HDU; surgical; rehabilitation; maternity; paediatrics; urology; orthopaedics; ophthalmology; dental; chemotherapy; and haemodialysis. With approximately 1000 staff, ERH is Echuca's largest employer.

Echuca is a vibrant tourist town with exciting cultural heritage, restaurant scene, sporting facilities,



seemingly endless leisure and recreational options all within 2 1⁄2-3 hours from Melbourne. Excellent preschool, primary and secondary education options are available.

Qualifications/experience required:

n

n
- MBBS or equivalent degree enabling registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
n
- Postgraduate year 4 or above
n
- Experience in the provision of general medicine services, ideally including High Dependency Unit (HDU) and/or Acute Medical Unit (AMU) services
n
- Interpersonal skills that promote effective teamwork and patient safety
