Utilise your passion and experience in Agriculture & Animal Care to teach students at Charles Darwin University (CDU)

About the Position

As the Lecturer – Agriculture & Animal Care, you will be responsible for delivering training in CII animal studies and CIV vet nursing whilst working under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and VET Quality Framework and to the competency standards of the Animal Care and Management Training Package. You will contribute to growing the teaching business and to anticipate and respond to industry and regional training requirements.

You will assist the Agricultural and rural operations programs in campus/ workshop/ remote areas and/ or the workplace environment, working under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and VET Quality Framework and to the competency standards of the Agriculture, Horticulture and conservation and land Management Training Package (AHC).

About You To be successful, you will require:

- Possess relevant Animal Studies qualification/s, relevant agriculture or rural operations qualification/s, and/or demonstrate relevant supervisory level practical industry work experience in Animal Studies / Veterinary Science or other relevant industry.
- Current qualification equivalent to a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or its successor), a diploma or higher-level qualification and the ability to obtain competencies in additional core units as required.
- Demonstrated experience providing training within a workplace setting or educational institution.
- Experience in researching and developing training tools to meet needs.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including the ability to communicate in a culturally sensitive manner with internal and external stakeholders to whom English may not be the first language.
- Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.
- Competency with the Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software packages.





Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and a valid NT Working with Children clearance

Desirable Competencies

- Current industry / community networks and the ability to leverage these to grow program delivery.
- Possession of Chemical User Accreditation.
- Current industry experience in Australia.

Remuneration Appointment to this role will be at Teaching Focused VET Academic Level A.

The base salary will be in the range of $79,132 to $118,716 per annum.

The total remuneration package will be in the range of $92,584 to $138,897 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
