We are seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our Sydney-based Legal team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

About You

Reporting to the Legal Director, this role will provide legal and commercial support across Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands partnering closely with our Operations, Sales, Project Management and Leadership teams.

This is an excellent chance for a lawyer who enjoys balancing legal risk with practical commercial outcomes in a fast-paced environment. The role requires reviewing and negotiating contracts, advising on contractual risk and supporting the business on a broad range of legal matters.

- 12 months fixed term contract role with the possibility to extend

- Based in Sydney

As Legal Counsel, you will:

- Review tender, customer and subcontract documentation and identify contractual and commercial risks.

- Draft, review and negotiate contracts, amendments and commercial agreements.

- Provide legal advice on contract administration, claims, disputes and risk management.

- Advise stakeholders on key contractual provisions including indemnities, liability, insurance and termination clauses.

- Partner with operational and sales teams to support project delivery and commercial objectives.

- Deliver training and guidance on contract management, compliance and legal risk.

- Liaise with external legal advisers and insurance providers where required.

- Support broader legal and compliance initiatives across the business.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A tertiary qualification in Law and admission to practice in Australia.

- Approximately 2-5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) gained in private practice, in-house, or a combination of both.

- Demonstrates consistent technical excellence and the ability to identify key legal and commercial issues.

- Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and commercial advisory skills.





- Experience working with construction, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing or services-related contracts will be preferred.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with strong commercial acumen.

- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
