As we continue to grow, we are seeking a commercially focused and pragmatic Legal Counsel to join our Perth Head Office team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer looking to further develop their in-house career while partnering closely with stakeholders across a dynamic mining business.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting the business by providing strategic, practical and commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of matters.

Working closely with stakeholders across procurement, commercial, operations, projects, exploration, human resources, native title and heritage, company secretarial and executive leadership teams, you will help identify, manage and mitigate legal risk while supporting the achievement of business objectives.

This role offers exposure to a diverse range of legal matters and will suit a lawyer who enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships and delivering practical legal solutions that enable business success.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide timely, practical and commercially focused legal advice
- across the business.
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements and contracts.
- Support procurement activities through the review and negotiation of procurement and supply agreements.
- Advise on construction,



project development and contractor engagement matters.
- Assist with contract management, claims, disputes and risk mitigation strategies.
- Support governance, compliance and corporate legal obligations.
- Monitor and advise on legal and regulatory developments impacting the business.
- Manage external legal advisers where required.
- Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
- Contribute to legal process improvements, policies and training initiatives.

What You'll Bring

- 5-8 years Post Admission Experience.
- Bachelor of Laws .
- Admission as a Legal Practitioner in Australia with a current unrestricted practising certificate.
- Contracts and procurement experience.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Robust communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- A commercial approach and the ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused advice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Highly Regarded

- Experience within the mining, resources or construction sectors.
- Exposure to project, operational or procurement-related legal matters.
- Previous in-house legal experience.
