About the Role

As a Support Worker in Kurbingui’s NDIS team, you will provide culturally safe, person-centred support to participants living with disability across Brisbane and Moreton Bay. You will work in participants’ homes, in the community and at Kurbingui locations, helping people pursue their goals, build independence and take part in activities that matter to them.

Guided by each participant’s support plan, you will assist with daily living, appointments, community access and social activities. You may also provide personal care where required and where you have the appropriate training. Throughout your work, you will respect each person’s choice and dignity and work closely with participants, families, carers and colleagues.

You will maintain accurate support notes, report incidents and safeguarding concerns, and follow the NDIS Code of Conduct, NDIS Practice Standards and Kurbingui’s procedures. Casual and part-time opportunities are available, with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, public holidays and sleepovers..

About You

Essential

- You identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.



This is an identified position under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).
- A compassionate, reliable and culturally responsive approach to supporting people living with disability.
- Commitment to participant choice, dignity, independence and wellbeing.
- A current Queensland Driver Licence and access to a registered, roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required employment screening, including a Positive Blue Card (“No Card, No Start”).

Desirable

- A qualification or experience in disability support, community services, aged care, youth work, mental health or a related field.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of the NDIS and person-centred support.
- Experience supporting people with complex needs or diverse communication styles.
